Thousands of women from the former Soviet Union are being smuggled into Israel by the Bedouin to work as prostitutes.
I cant imagine that in this century there are people who are slaves, states Superintendent Ely Levy. But many of the women in the brothels of Tel Aviv have been purchased over the internet by Israeli criminal gangs. While the gangs earn millions, the Bedouin smugglers responsible for getting the girls into Israel earn relatively little. The smugglers claim their actions dont hurt any Israelis: Were not like those Gaza smugglers who send weapons to the West Bank.
